Traveling to Sun Valley

While part of Sun Valley’s appeal is its remote location, this does mean planning in advance is important! We highly recommend booking your flights and accommodations as soon as possible.

Hailey Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN)

Hailey Airport is ~20 minute drive to Sun Valley. With direct flights in the summer time from: Chicago (ORD), Denver (DEN), Salt Lake City (SLC), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Seattle (SEA). SUN is 12.5 miles south of The Limelight Hotel in Ketchum. Most hotels offer free airport pickup or they can arrange a taxi service. Boise Airport (BOI)

Boise is ~2.5 hour drive to Sun Valley. There are several convenient flights available on Alaska, American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, and United with nonstop flights from 29 destinations. Once you arrive, you can either rent a car or book the Sun Valley Express Shuttle , which departs BOI at 3:30 PM. The shuttle must be booked in advance.

Ketchum, Sun Valley and the surrounding areas of Warm Springs Canyon, River Run, Hailey, and Bellevue make up the Wood River Valley. You’ll often hear folks refer to the entire valley area as Sun Valley, but the original resort village actually shares their city limits with the historic mining town of Ketchum.
